Executive Director Update: July 2026

Dear Friends,

One of the best things about summer in Vermont is spending time out in the community and connecting with neighbors, and Downstreet is taking full advantage of the season. From parades and festivals to community celebrations and local events, you’ll find us throughout our service area—including Bradford, Waterbury, Waitsfield, Johnson, Barre, and Stowe.

This summer also marks an exciting new chapter for Downstreet as our service area expands to include the town of Randolph in Orange County. We’re happy to be partnering with the Randolph Area Community Development Corporation (RACDC), managing Randolph House and overseeing the Support and Services at Home program. As our work in Randolph continues to grow, we look forward to serving even more residents and strengthening our partnerships in the area.

Even as we expand, Downstreet remains a community-based organization at heart. More than 60 dedicated staff members work every day to develop affordable homes, manage our properties, help people find apartments, support residents, assist first-time homebuyers, and provide a wide range of services that help Vermonters thrive. We’re proud to do this work in the communities we call home.

Whether you see us marching in a parade, celebrating at the Barre Heritage Festival, tabling at the Johnson Blueberry Festival, or attending another local event, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello. We’d love to talk with you about our work and the strong local partnerships that make it possible. Together, we're helping build stronger communities throughout Central Vermont.
