The Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for partner families to build affordable, energy-efficient homes! There are two orientation meetings coming up on October 5th at Bethany Church in Montpelier and October 10th at First Presbyterian Church in Barre for interested families. Families are encouraged to apply if they are in need of adequate shelter (current housing is overcrowded, unsafe, unaffordable or not owned), able to repay a 0% affordable mortgage, have a total family income that is 30-60% of AMI (currently $22,000 to $45,000 for a family of 4 in Washington County), and are willing to be a full partner with Habitat for Humanity. Partner families are expected to be timely with all the application paperwork, must work 500 hours with Habitat for Humanity during the process of building a home, and are required to pay a down payment and keep up with their mortgage obligation.
If you would like to apply or know a family who may be interested in applying, please attend one of the two orientation meetings in October:
Monday October 5th at Bethany Church in Montpelier 6-8pm & Saturday October 10th at First Presbyterian Church in Barre 3-5pm
Children are welcome to attend these orientation meetings, too! Bringing paperwork such as bills and pay stubs is helpful for filling out the application. An application is also available to download and print at www.centralvermonthabitat.org. For more information, call 802-522-8611, email Debbie Goodwin or visit Central Vermont Habitat for Humanities.
